testing fuel sender

I am testing the fuel sender in my Bobcat. The tank is full and its a 90s Bobcat. I am using a HF DVM (their best one) and one wire is removed from the sender and I am measuring the resistance across the two sender connectors. It goes from OL to 00 then with some auto-ranging comes up with 350 ohms. The Bobcat manual does not say, but I read on a forum that full its 33 ohms and empty its 330 ohms. I assume the sender is broken. My hands/fingers were not touching the leads.

Probably. It sounds like it's stuck on empty (350 Ω is an acceptable reading for a specification of 330 Ω). Perhaps the float is no longer buoyant, or possibly it's jammed.
