Tesla recalls 2m cars

I'm glad that they are finally doing something about the issue. One of my local insurance guys was killed in a Tesla when it failed to recognize a split in the road. Probably part the drivers fault putting too much faith in the auto pilot system.
And not stepping on the brake or steering the car. Tesla instructs you to keep your hands on the wheel at all times.
The update is to improve the Nag, but you can't fix stupid.

This has been my big gripe with the system. Sure there are flaws, but the main issue is too much faith and not enough attention paid to the system. I understand why some people say us Tesla people are annoying. I can't think of someone more annoying to deal with than the bow down to FSD crowd. You just can't convince someone when they think it's a safety system that is going to save the world. It's really cool tech, but it's not true autonomy. I can't make a comment in some spots without some people calling me a tail pipe huffer and assuming I spend my time ICEing EV chargers. Really I should leave it well enough alone, but when it becomes a safety issue I'm genuinely concerned for others wellbeing.

Man, the wording of “recall” really triggered the Tesla faithful on ex Twitter. 😂 They are MAD. “An OTA update is not a recall!!”

The double-standard is wild though. When other automakers fix an offical NHTSA “recall” solely through an OTA update it’s appropriate. But when Tesla has one, it’s a 5-Alarm fire of injustice from the government. Bizarre.

I don’t think it’s even a legitimate fix. The goal is to make the system more annoying to get people to pay more attention using FSD which really isn’t FSD. It’s a stupid driver’s aid that has flaws. So now that means we’re bandaid fixing the wound that is FSD.

There’s layers to the butthurt here.
