I don't know why Tesla didn't build the original truck design, it is pretty cool albeit a bit freaky but I like it.

For my area where I live 4 wheel drive is something that is not needed (meaning I would not use) and adds more complexity to the vehicle. Like I posted, it wouldnt stop me from buying a particular vehicle but I would prefer not to have it.
When I lived up north it was nice to have it. My post is in the context of this thread and that is buying a Cybertruck for $20,000 less money because it has 2 wheel drive instead of a 4 wheel drive

I was really just joking about my 4WD handle - or used to be before the site lawyer decided it was a problem …

Egomaniacs needing attention drive these pieces of crap.

That sounds like jealousy.

I know several people who own Cybertrucks, and every one uses it as a truck. They also have other EV's in their families.

It's been almost two years since I drove the first one I saw. It is owned by my counsins, wifes nephew. I posted pictures on here. He has no complaints, and even tows a travel trailer with his.

Apparently that's just a rendering by Turkish artist Emre Husmen as to what he thought a Tesla truck should look like, it was never an official design from the brand.
Yeah but they really should have built it instead. Could have made anything that looks something like a Rivian or F-150, that is a pickup truck, and actually sold them.

An electric Brat or El Camino with jump seats in the bed would also be cool. There's a market for bombing around town and, well, picking up stuff. Extreme range is not necessary.

Yeah, I absolutely LOVED driving it the two times I got to do so, and EVERY real human I have spoken to in person who actually owns one personally also LOVES the vehicle. And that includes people that got them pretty early so had a higher risk of problems and had to deal with the various recalls.

The internet noise and hate on this vehicle may be acceptable given its controversial design and higher price than originally estimated, but that does NOT mean it is a bad vehicle.

It would be no different than me saying BMWs are trash although I have never owned or driven one. I mean through work I have been exposed to the high cost of repair and maintenance and would never personally recommend them or own one myself. But I do know that many, many BMW owners (especially those buying them new and/or leasing them) absolutely LOVE their vehicles and wouldn't even consider anything else. Oh and plenty of BMWs that I think are ugly. Not as controversial as the Cybertruck but at the very least they have some hideous front end designs.

I never understood the use case for the CT, beyond Musk being too full of himself when Tesla was ramping.
Musk also ticked off alot of the faithful Tesla owners as he kept going on about how it could survive the apocalypse. It would supposedly float and could seal the batteries (that wasn't ever explained) several Cybertruck owners took their truck into water with disastrous results. Many were really irked about the inflated milage claims. Musk had to have known it wouldn't go remotely close to 500 miles on a charge, let alone tow 14k pounds. Then add in a goofy bed battery that took up 1/3rd of the bed.

Aren't they too rigid and don't provide an adequate crumple zone for protection? Energy transfer happens much more rapidly to the human body in a crash.
Tesla claims it's "super safe ". I saw the impact test and it didn't give, something has to.

Nope, Not interested. 30k still not interested.
Some people may like them, I don't
Plus it's boring no oil to change
