I see what seems to be a large number of reports of Tesla fires. Are there more Tesla fires than other car fires?

A Tesla Cyber truck burst into flames in Vegas this morning, killing 1, and injuring several others. It blew near the valet parking lot at the Trump International Hotel.

They were working to extract the body from the vehicle. Apparently they were basically roasted alive.

The reports I've read point to this not being an accident.

ETA: Here is one example:

An official briefed on the probe told ABC News that the Tesla Cybertruck had a load of fireworks-style mortars onboard. Investigators are urgently working to determine a motive and whether the driver intended to set off an explosion and why.

Pinto: 27 fire fatalities.
Tesla: 83.
I'm old enough to remember the Pinto fires. Even had a high school teacher that survived, losing her Pinto to a fire, on the side of I-15.

edyvw, would you mind sharing your source. If accurate, this is very interesting. I've been somewhat curious, if Tesla car fires are really more frequent than other cars, or not, but just over reported by the news. This would be an interesting comparison.

I don’t think all are because of spontaneous fires. Some are because of that handle design.

I really didn’t dwell into that, but I will.
However, the point is that after 27 deaths Pinto became laughingstock of the automotive world.
Remember the 70ish Chevy pickups with the outside the frame fuel tanks? My neighbor across the street had one.

Chevy compensated him $1,500.00 for it back in the 90's. I think he only paid $3,500.00 or so new at the time.

There was scandal involving a NBC Dateline story on it. It turns out they used pyrotechnics to ignite the spilled fuel after they deliberately T-Bone crashed it with a full tank.

In Las Vegas, this is a possible terrorist attack.
The Cyber Truck is the preferred Ukrainian munitions delivery vehicle to attack the Russians. Yippee kai yah.

Terrorism

Just like the Jan 1 New Orleans attack, the EV was a Ford F150 Lightning.

I think Hyundia/Kia gets the official Ronson award.

There are reports that the truck was carrying a load of fireworks. That's surely an important factor.

And reports of three explosions, with the truck fire starting with the third, all in front of the Trump tower.

Doesn't sound like a "routine Tesla battery fire" to me.

If it makes everyone feel safer, I hereby resolve to never carry a load of fireworks in my Model 3.

More like a makeshift bomb.
