In another post, you said:

Ed, GC has a very positive affectation on Cf and I suspect the engine Control Unit is adjusting to that thus the light clatter and MPG drop.

The frictional drop will degrade with use and this oil reminds me of Amsoil series 2000 0w30 when it first came out around 95/96 and the improved MPG that dropped off with use.

What is it about GC that allows for a reduction in Cf? Additives? Basestock? I assume you have done testing to show this... what sort of tests?

Thanks!

P.S. As we had discussed, I am switching my Mustang 5.0 to GC. I am in the process of using up my pennz 10w30 and running an AutoRx treatment, so I can have a "fresh start" with GC.

Nova, the oil is currently in testing in a 1.8L Nissan 4cyl using correlated MPG figures with temps and UOA monitoring.

Some of the blend base oils are acting as a FM additive. Its a proprietary FUCH developed base used in their 0w-20 oils I THINK.

No one is paying the freight on a ASTM standards test so keep that in mind, this is just for my oil analysis consumer customers for verification.

I am trying to get access to bench testing that could be used as a comparison but it is still in the lab and is very costly.

What is "FUCH"? Got any links?

So this is MPG tests, and not bench? Got it! I figure no one would be dropping the coin to reverse engineer the oil at this point.
