9" of rain is incrediable. I hope the country puts as much effort and money to helping the South and Southwest during these hardships and natural occurances as they do Haiti.
My oldest son lives in Tipton county and posted pictures of the flooding on his Facebook site. The pond on his place was just short of breaching it's levee.
Hopefully the overflow culvert will drain it down some before the rest of the rain comes in on Sunday.
As for me in the Batesville MS area....just 1.94" since Friday afternoon. We have missed most of the bad weather so far.
not yet. Fortunately, I live in an apartment on a hill. but I can't get out b/c the road at the bottom of the hill is flooded. there was cops directing us to turn around and I had to prove I lived in the apartment to get across. all interstate traffic was diverted on murfreesboro road. you don't want to know how bad it was to drive today.
Amazing and again disaster like this does not even make the news, if I wasnt on this site. I would not even know this is happening. All the news talks about is dancing with the stars and politics. I got to wonder how many of those cars will end up on a used car lot in about a month.
