Is it real, artificial, green, white, colored lights, white lights etc.

We have an artificial tree but the past couple years this is what we have used.

At our old house we had a short artificial tree. At our new house (with gobs of space) we upped the ante and got a full sized artificial. Prewired with lights. Real trees might have ambiance, but they also shed needles, and our house is wall to wall carpet. And we wanted to put the tree near a gas fireplace. Wife had to do a bit of searching to find the right one, but she's happy, so I get to be happy too.

I wanted to put in extra effort this year, make sure to bend the hooks on the ornaments so that they wouldn't fall off--that way I could just take the tree to the basement, as-is, and make next year's setup easier. Lost that argument.

Wound up putting it up Thanksgiving morning, tree had just come, and it was the best time we could plan for. Might wind up as a tradition, I'm not sure. Set up the tree while smelling a turkey cooking--I can think of worse ways to spend a morning.

Artificial, we just moved in a week ago. It's a 6ft one, we'll get a nicer one once the kids and kittens are a bit older, the 4 of them keep ripping stuff off the tree and driving my wife nuts

ZZ man, you have had a lot of strange topics but that picture gave me a good laugh. I'm pushing 70, kids gone, I refuse to put any more Christmas crap out. It'll all be over in a week.

7 foot tall real Christmas tree. Wide. This year, white lights with red, white and gold decorations. We usually have multi color lights. Still nice!

My parents had one of those great Reynolds (or Alcoa ?) aluminum trees with that rotating color wheel spotlight.

I thought that was pretty cool - in the 1950's through the mid 60's

with Firestone promo Christmas records playing on the console stereo. Rosemary Clooney, Bing, Frank, etc.

Ahhh.

After marriage in the log Cabin, We did a real tree a couple times in the early 90's ...

Now, Sometimes we put some small lights and a coupe odd or special ornaments on
a Ficus my wife rescued from the workplace office.

We have lost a lot of relatives, friends and parents over the past couple decades.

So, we are sort of in a melancholy mood, rather than festive...

Last year was the first year we ever went with an artificial. I love a real tree though.

This was one of the nicest trees I've ever had.

Got a real one, like I always do...first one that I've had no-one to help me decorate, so started making my own things to go on it...only got one far done, the star for the top, with a wire wrapped citrine in the middle...more work to do obviously.

And yes, have to work on the vertical alignment...it's a bit hard to adjust from the base and see the result...

4' tall and pretty simple. My Wife and I were going to be alone this year but just found out our daughter and two grandsons are on the way from Wichita KS to spend a few weeks with us. The kids are 1 & 4 years old. We haven't even met the youngest yet. Their Dad is deployed in Qatar.

The last one I had was over a decade ago. It was a Douglas. Didnt decorate it. Just got it for the smell. Candles are more convenient though, so I just use them, now. $5.88 at Walmart.

Yes I do. Gets people talking. Glad you got a laugh out of it. It works perfect as dragging everything out to decorate a big tree and making room for it is just a big pain.
