Looking for your opinions of the top 3 best oil filters. I only run 5,000 mile oci's with Syn oil so dirt holding ability is a concern. Just looking for great filtering efficiency.

Dirt capacity is almost irrelevant, when I cut open oil filters at 200hrs or 6,000 miles they're still fairly clean.
For $13 I don't think anything beats fram synthetic endurance oil filters.
I can get down to a 2 micron "hydraulic filter" but they run around $40 or more, may not have a bypass, or be available in the thread size you're looking for, ect.

Unfortunately, ISO efficiency data is severely lacking from the oil filter brands. You will get responses but there's little data to back it up. Anyways, Just use any of the brands mentioned & it'll be just fine for your 5k intervals. I like Purolator filters & they were one of the only ones providing data. If you let us know your Purolator part number, efficiency data may already be listed here already.

Some of the official date from Purolator/M+H will show why not to use some of them based on efficiency. The companies that list one or base the ISO 4548-12 efficiency on the average of 3 filter sizes is better than not listing anything, or listing just the percentage of efficiency without any corresponding micron size.

So you didn’t even answer question. Thanks for adding nothing.

Anyways my 3 are CQ premiums, PEntius PXL AND DONALDSON white can

All those are trash compared to a 2 micron wix hydraulic filter if the question is efficiency.
It kinda boils down to how much is someone willing to spend and how hard are they going to look for it.

Hydraulic oil filters don’t fit on an engine and I wouldn’t want to use one unless specs and bypass matched say a Donaldson filter.

What do you mean hydraulic filters don't fit on an engine?
I've got 2micron filters that are 13/16-16 thread size for doing exactly what you say can't be done.
The only difference is a higher pressure bypass, they cost more, usually at least double that of a normal oil filter and are harder to find.
I think the 10micron absolute Baldwin's were around $30 and the 2micron wix were more like $50.

I would say Fram has been the leader in aftermarket efficiency, showing the numbers and have researched, tested, and developed media. They have shown their test lab in videos, and list several filter numbers tested. You want manufacturer specs met. I wouldn’t experiment with filters not approved for the specific application.
But then there has been quality control and engineering changes with Fram.
I can’t give a top three because a lot of the efficiency data is believing words on a box or website from the people who are selling them.

Seems like there has been a change of mind about Fram and ISO 4548-12 since the "goodtimes" days.

No but several filters will match them at 20 microns and for less than half the cost.

Would you include the STP XL in this group?

I wouldn’t hesitate to use of the filters in the PG portfolio.
