SOME of their products are manufactured in the USA.

Most are from Taiwan.

Its pretty good stuff.

I bought a set of the metric sizes a while back. They're a nice tool for the money. I haven't used them much but they do come in handy for certain jobs.

I'm having real trouble getting the steering rack out of my S600. I can't get at the pressure line fitting because of obstructions and space. I was actually considering lifting the engine for better access.

Just ordered the 10-27mm set, thinking this might just be the ticket for getting that line disconnected from the rack.

I'm at work, had to leave the car up on the lift in the shop, and when I get back, I'll give these a shot (in 17mm size for that line).

Love their stuff even though mostly Taiwan. Got a metric combo wrench set, metric ratcheting flex 6 point wrench set (pretty rare to find), allen sockets and torx sockets. Only the torx sockets have been weak, but I guess thats expected. I was going to buy one of their box sets since theyre usulaly complete socket sets, but the regular sockets werent that short.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are the same. No way a company like Tekton, Lowes, etc can exclusively produce mid-range quality tools at the reasonably low prices they sell them for. To get these tools and at these prices, there's a manufacturer out there that's cranking out HUGE numbers of tools and private-labeling them for many, many different "brands". We have to remember that to 90% of consumers, they don't care that the exact same set of tools can be bought from Lowes / Home Depot / Harbor Freight / fill-in-many-other-names-here for $1.79 cheaper. They're in a store right now and plan to buy a tool right now, in most cases.

I want to pick up a set I’ve only got a few and most are old and companies are long gone so I don’t want to use them. I guess I’ll see how much damage I do on the Snap-on truck tomorrow then decide if I want to buy them this week or some other time LOL.

I wouldnt get too hung up over the fact that theyre made in the USA. Steel is steel, whether it be China, Taiwan, Japan, Germany or the US. Tekton does make good stuff though, no matter where its made.

I've broken some cheap garbage steel tools over the years, mostly hand me downs, all of which came from China. So I'd say there is different quality steel used in tools. I seriously doubt Snap On, Hazet, Stahlwille, Proto, or some of the other quality tool makers are using the same quality steel that is used in some of the garbage coming from China.

Looking at Lowe’s they sell these Tekton wrenches. They say these are made and designed by Tekton in Michigan using USA 4140 steel.

I see that on Lowes site but Tekton doesn't get that specific on their own website's listings. Wonder where Lowes got that from or if they assumed it ?

My experience was good. I rounded a socket on the first try with my impact. I emailed them. He asked me how it happened, I replied back that it was my fault. It wasn’t impact rated but was disappointed I rounded it the first try. Next thing I knew there was a new socket in the mailbox

The Lowes description is from Tekton , somewhere. We make in Grand Rapids, we this and that, etc. Lowes isn't writing that. Tekton says entirely made in USA, this includes the material, or it will say with global materials.
I guess these have been out three years or so. They make other things like pliers and punches in the USA. I will probably be supporting them for that on those if needed. I had assumed everything they had was from Taiwan or China.

Would a brake line wrench crows foot fit? Perhaps get one of those pivot ratchets from HF too. *An “indexable head” ratchet. Lol.

Brake line wrenches don’t fit..too thick. Crow foot 3/8” drive don’t fit...the drive is too big to fit in the space. Combination wrenches don’t fit...too long. My stubby combination fits, but I can’t get enough leverage to break it loose.

Trust me when I say it’s difficult. When I’m considering lifting the engine, you know I’ve tried about everything.
