Tecumshe 7hp spark problems, flywheel magnets etc.

At last, the engine fires easily.
The flywheel was replaced with a used one. It only tested slightly better than the
old one for magnet strength by the Tecumseh 3-11hp service manual test but made a huge
difference in spark output. The flywheel was always suspect but getting another a problem
as they are pricey new. I got lucky and found another locally yesterday for $10.

The machine was a garage find. It was used for a couple of seasons then sat in a
garage for 37 years. Its in great shape.

Thanks for the help.

All it takes is to drop the flywheel 1 foot on a concrete or hard floor to demagnetize the magnets. That is why I suggested to get them magnetized at an old outboard dealer. I know because I used to do it. Ed
