Tech2000 - Who makes it?

I see lots of posts re Supertech from Walmart. I assume that is what they call the house brand south of the border. In Canada they sell Tech2000 as a house brand. The last time I was in the store I could not match it up with any other brand based on the container, but it said it was made in Canada. Any theories on who makes it here in Canada?

Safety Kleen Canada. I believe it may be re-refined (used oil).

....not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that. The best conventional oil starts out as crude.

The stuff in the used oil tank is prolly much better than what comes out of the ground.

I haven't checked, but is there a synthetic Tech2000? I would think it is hard to make a synthetic from used oil.

Yep, there's a Tech2000 synthetic in 0w30, 5w30 and 10w30. Funny, Walmart used to also stock a semi-synthetic 15w40 HDEO but I haven't seen it in the shelves for a long time now.

Seem to recall someone saying the Tech2000 synthetic is rebadged Petro-Canada synthetic.
