What do you do with a tax stamp? Make copies, phone, safe deposit box, etc? Anyone else have one? Laminate or paper copy on Short Barrel or Suppressor? Help advice, thanks!

Hopefully you did a Firearms Trust via Silencer Shop (or other reputable venue). Elkins45 has a good idea and I believe it’s allowable under the letter of the law.

Congrats!
A tax stamp is just that: a tax document. You legally only have to present it to an ATF or Treasury agent. Having said that, in the unlikely event some other LEO asks about your NFA item showing a copy of the stamp might save you a world of inconvenience.

I’ve owned NFA items for over a decade and I have yet to be asked by anyone to produce a stamp.

I was agreeing; I’ve not yet personally had to wrestle with this but I’ve had friends who have folded their original and have it in a ziplock along with the weapon in case of issue. I definitely defer to those who’ve had to deal with potential problems personally.

I would be very hesitant about taking the original with me, especially for the older ones with actual paper stamps. For the ones done with Eforms you can always just print out a new one from the PDF.

Congrats on the new acquisition!

For each stamp, including the suppressors and SBR, I keep the original and a copy in the safe, with the trust. A paper copy in my range bag. A paper copy in my rifle case (soft case that I typically use for transporting to/from the range).

And digital scan/copy on my phone.

Which ensures that I will have one with me no matter what.

Nobody has ever asked to see them, but this is important enough that I take no chances.

Wonderful ideas and suggestions!!!!

Postal service brings right to your front door, who would have thunk.
OK - for the folks who won’t read the article, and will make specious off topic, and often political, points - this is delivered after your ATF Form 4 is approved, you fill out a 4473, and pass the resultant background check, in full compliance with Federal Law on the matter.

A process that takes several months, $200+ in fees, and again, still has the background check.

And I got two t shirts from Silencer Central. 🤣🤣🤣

That was the icing on the cake because all I think about is cake besides Hondas and Redline Oil.

In hearing the approval time for individuals submitting a form4 has dropped to a week or less. That was the major hangup. The NFA would sit on your paperwork for up to a year.

My first was last year it took 90 days, second was earlier this year it took 1 month and my most recent was last week only took 2 days.
So the wait times Have definitely improved, My son got his first 3 years ago he waited a whole year.
