This is not a general comment - it is a specific to GM cars comment. All GM owener's manuals say to use clean drinking water with the DexCool.
I used reverse osmosis in my 96 blazer along with oreilly unmixed antifreeze. I would never use my regular well water! That stuff is so full of iron and I hate it!
Reverse osmosis gets rid of most of the [censored] in the water.
