Tanners leather conditioner

Read some of the posts on leather conditioner, but haven't read anything about Tanners. Any one have anything to offer? My 01 F150 leather seats are dry and starting to crack. Previous owner, Dad, didn't put anything on the seats, period. I'm in the process of changing that. I've cleaned them and have been applying Tanners conditioner very liberally to the seating surfaces. I'm talking about a LOT of conditioner. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong.
Another question, with plastic being so leather-looking-like, does anyone know what seats are actually leather and how much? Like on my truck, it's also a Supercrew. I can tell the driver and passenger front seating area is leather. What about the back support? Or the back seats? I know our two Honda's have leather on the seating and back surfaces and maybe the rear, not sure. I just remember reading something a while ago that most of the time, the actual leather is the seating surfaces only, not the whole seat.

I broke down and bought myself the Leatherique conditioner and cleaner for Christmas (I buy all my own gifts, then have my lovely bride distribute them to the kids to give back to me). In my Probe GT, it did a great job of filling in creases and softening the leather on seats that I had bought out of a Florida '93 PGT. I'm almost convinced to get their leather dye and bring them back to showroom.

If my PGT is any indication, if you don't touch it when you sit in it, it ain't leather.

That's about what I figured. Thanks. Haven't heard a lot on the Tanners stuff, maybe I need to try that stuff. I've literally caked on Tanners on the front seats once a day for about a week. Dang neared used a whole 6 ounce bottle on the two front seats and they are still hard.

tried tanners. it was shinny and did not seem to do much. gave it away.

Leatherique conditioner and cleaner really worked well on my BMW seats
