Taking some time off

Given all the "polarizing" commentary and offense that folks have taken on me posting my opinions in threads, I've decided to take some time off from the board and spend time on other things. Please take my word that my intent was not to offend anybody or be rude to anyone, but rather express my opinions on stuff that was relevant to me because of experience or personal interest.

I may have opinions and I may be somewhat blunt, but I do not want to catalyze polarity on the board. It's always fun to read, but I'm at the point where I can say no right. So I'm going to say nothing and relax and attend to other aspects of my life. I'm spending too much time on the boards, and I have a lot going on. So it's time to take a little time and take a break.

See y'all around in the future.
 
Suck it up. Who cares if somebody gets offended or doesn't like you chiming in on something. It's the internet and the associated anonymity provides a perfect place for everyone to be who they really are and uninhibited. The rules are already stifling, there's no need to further edit by leaving. Not everybody in the world is going to agree or even get along and in fact most of the time we shoot each other over minor and idiotic reasons, it's just a fact of life. I say stick around and say what you want.

Some times a little break is a good thing....in fact one forum I have taken a 2 year break from.

What he just said!! Besides, your opinion means a lot more around here than most. I don't recall your being rude, or abrasive to anyone. Had you been as unkind as that, I'd encourage you to go. Beyond that, why deprive the rest of us the value of your posts? Ignore those who would provoke you into hair splitting--just don't respond to them.

Remember what the Romans always said: "Illigitimus Carborundum!" Be like them and stand fast!!
 
Hold up a minute here! When you're off vacationing I might be the only Jersey guy grating on the other member's nerves. Maintaining the stereotype isn't easy, you know. I'm pretty new here so that's a lot of responsibility for me. I've been on a bit of a roll lately but I don't know how long I can do it on my own. Come back soon, okay?
 
Yeah, things are kinda getting hairy around here lately. I like lively, but there seems to be more [censored] and moan lately. Kinda makes ya blah...

I'm going to disappear for a while too...but that has more with getting my new house up to code...

Well, I have seen nothing offensive or polarizing from you. Then again, I'm thick skinned, and of all the posts I've ever read on this board, I could probably count on one hand all the posts by anyone that I might even consider offensive.

I'm not trying to pry, but what could you have possibly posted that could be construed as polarizing or overly blunt? In any case, don't be gone long!

Don't flatter yourself. I've been attacked {verbaly} and banned several times for responses to posts and for things I've posted. There's no way you can post anything anymore and not have people belittle or scoff at what you say. Us Jersey guys don't sugarcoat our responses, and don't care if you don't agree with us.Funny, there's usually never a problem unless the topic is about oil?.,,,
 
Do not take a too long vacation, I am being selfish but I will be honest. There is some times there should be more bluntness on here but I understand this board has rules. I will be missing you even though you are from Jersey. Take a short rest and come back better than ever.
 
JH- Ive been on the forum for a few years, I ALWAYS appreciate your insight on posts.
Plus- Im an Ex-NJ'ite, so im a fan as well.

Enjoy the time off (go down to the shore?)
 
Yeah, I'm with the others on this one. I haven't been offended by any of your posts. Sure, the one's about buying American all the time, get annoying but that's about it. I enjoy your posts much more than some other people, who I won't mention.
 
Since your post count averages between 6 and 7 posts a day, I'd say it's time to evaluate your priorities. This is, after all, nothing more than a discussion forum, and in the scheme of things is pretty insignificant.
