Love mine too.

11 second 1/4 miles, never locked, never leak. This is my 4th 4th gen F-body all had T-tops. None have ever leaked and I live in Seattle Wa.

I wonder how many folks in here have every actually owned a car with T-tops. It is very nice. Hard top feel when it is [censored] out, open cockpit feel when it is nice.

Agreed! Had them on my '87 and they were AWESOME!

After the last '72 convertible car rolled of the assembly line in Detroit(or where ever), T-Tops were all we had unless the imports had something other then a BENZ 500 SEL!

Who wouldn't love a true convertible? Wife and I still love cruising around in our Firebird FORMULA w/T-Tops

The Cadillac Eldorado was availible as a convertible until 1976:

Ross, did you have those T-Tops installed on your Fiero or were the OE? I have never seen them on a Fireo... Love'em!

I don't really see many Fireo's anymore. Once in awhile, about every 5-6 years! Yours look great!

My buddy Ed(RIP) had an '86 Red Fiero GT 5spd V6 that was Fun, Fun, Fun! T-Tops would have added to the splendor

Ah yes, I remember now!

The T-tops on the Camaro were cool but after my daughter was born the days of joy riding were few and far between so they rarely came off. No leaks even during the heaviest of rain, but I remember I had to be careful if I used any power washes to clean the car. Water would get in between where the window would line up with the T-tops.

There was the Toyota Celica Sunchaser, Triumph Spitfire, TR6, and by 1980 TR7 and TR8 Dropheads, MG Midget and MGB, the Fiat X1/9s and Porsche 911 and 914 were Targas but that's pretty close and by the late '70s the 911 came in a Cabriolet, the Volkswagen Cabriolet, Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible, the Datsun S110 200SX could be ordered as a convertible modified by American Custom Coachworks, by 1982 Chrysler was back in the convertible business with the Le Baron ("Jon Voight" owned one later owned by George Costanza) by 1983 Ford had the Mustang GLX convertible...etc....

Been there done that!

I had a 260Z with a folding cloth "sunroof" sort of like the top on a Citroen 2CV. It leaked like a sieve at the front. The visors were so water damaged that they were concave and would fill up with rain water. I neglected to tell one of my dates about this and she pulled down the visor as soon as she got into the car dumping the contents of the visor onto her legs.

.
Needless to say, she declined a second date with me.

Me. I won't own a convertable. Way too many compromises.

You have to keep in mind too, that there are many shops that will(or did) install aftermarket T-Top in cars such as Camaro's/Firebird's and other cars as well(too many to list) Mine were factory installed as I had ordered the car specificly with only the options that I wanted(No A/C)

Even today I feel the same way as I did 32 years ago when I ordered the car. If it's that HOT outside to warrent A/C, I'm driving something else in the garage. All of our other cars have A/C.If I have to drive the FORMULA with the T-tops on the car, it's just another car to me. But, with the tops off, I'm in another world.

As-far-as the little 2 seat imports mentioned above(Triumph, MG, FIAT, Porsche etc.)...Not for me! Many of my buddys owned'em over the years and most of them were disasters for repairs and problems on their best day. Their quality/reliability wasn't even as good as our American Vehicles, and we were building some very troublesome vehicles at that time. Although, these little 2 seaters do have their following of diehard owners. "It's the continuous tinkering that make'em fun", some say!

The coupe market has died for car makers.

I also wonder if modern crash ratings are more difficult to achieve.
