Has anyone used Castrol Multivehicle ATF? How are the results?

I used T-IV because I didn't get any feedback on Castrol ATF.
I am using mobil 3309 ,
I have also noticed since the switch that my tranny warms up much quicker now...,
I did 2 drain/refills......, I have this in a 02 rav4.
so far I love the mobil...., and much cheaper if you buy it in bulk...1/2 the cost of the toyo T-IV.

Darn. I don't know where to buy that Mobil 3309 out here.
Mobil 3309 is formulated SPECIFICALLY to T-IV specs.
That's something none of the 'universal' ATF's can say.
Therefore, you've got no problems (warranty or otherwise) if you use Toyota T-IV OR Mobil 3309.
My Toyota Tundra is specific: 'Use only T-IV.' My money comes hard. Transmissions are expensive. Therefore, there are only 2 ATF's so far that I'll use in it: 3309 or T-IV.

I agree. The reading I've done on Volvo forums says that Mobil 3309 may be at most a semisynthetic. Nobody really knows, since manufacturers usually specify performance, and not whether a fluid needs to be synthetic to meet their criteria.
I picked up 3309 at a NWL, National Wholesale Liquidators, for $1.69 a quart.
ExxonMobil makes 3309 for certain Aisin-Warner automatic transmissions. They can bottle it with the Toyota name, or Volvo name, or whatever, but it's all the same stuff. Neither Toyota, nor Volvo, nor Aisin-Warner blends ATF.

Amsoil ATF has been extensively tested in Toyota applications, and while it was not blended exclusively for Toyota that does NOT mean it does not exceed other T-IV fluids.
The fact remains that T-IV is not some magic wonder juice. It's just not that hard to make a superior fluid.

Word on the Volvo web site is that their newer generation of fluids sold for $16/qt is synthetic and backward compatible with their transmissions that use Mobil 3309.
FWIW I have also found that the Amsoil works well as a replacement for the Toyota T-IV fluid. Come to think of it it works well as a replecement for all my BMW ATF fluids,lifetime or otherwise. It just hit me, I use that Universal ATF in enerything I own.
I would like to use a fully synthetic substitute for Toyota T-1V in my Kluger/Highlander 3.3 awd, however if I did I would I think void the warranty on the transmission here in Australia. I am going to change out the 3.7 litres I can and then do it again after a week or so, I have 26k miles, so it will be about 90% change. Incidentally I asked the main dealer about a full flush and he said all they did was what I am about to do and that a flush was impossible!
