Synthetic oil

False. You might benefit from the grade stability of a good synthetic in hot weather. I second the choice of T6. I use it in a Toyota with 300K on it.

I'd use a blend like Pennzoil Gold. If you notice consumption/leak issues in the future, switch to MaxLife Blend. (red bottle) In Texas, 10w30 or 10W-40 might be a consideration if you have to continually top off with 5w30. I'd stick to 5k OCI.
