Synthetic Oil- OCI

Can most Synthetics(5w-20)go 6 months or 7500 miles easily?I do mostly highway driving about 300 miles a week.I use Baldwin filters.Right now I'm using Castrol Syntec and I will either use Amzoil XL-7500 or Mobil 1.Thanks Joe

Well, since coming to Bitog I believe in 5K/6months for dino. So, logically 7500/6k on sythetic should get it done easily.

All the synthetics you mentioned are solid and should do the highway OCI no problem. IMO, you could even get a little more with the oil and filter combo's you mentioned.
 
Absolutely, your engine automatically runs cleaner when it sees you buy synthetic oil just so you can go longer between oil changes.

Stick to the same OCI you would with a conventional oil, the same amount of carbon, hydrochloric acid, water vapour and unburnt gasoline ends regardles of what brand of oil you put in your engine.

I don't get it, one of the benefits of synthetics are the ability for longer OCIs. So why do you suggest to do the same OCIs with conventional and synthetic?

With mostly highway driving, wouldn't mosf the contaminants you list (water, unburnt gasoline, and hydrochloric acid [boiling point of 110C]) evaporate from the heated oil and be removed via the PCV, assuming the PCV and other parts of the engine were in good working order?

Finally, where exactly is the hydrochloric acid coming from? I'm not aware of any major source of chlorine in or around a car's systems.
