Synthetic blend question

This might be a stupid question, but I was under the impression that going from conventional to synthetic blend to full synthetic was sort of a "good, better, best" arrangement. I've been using Castrol Syntec Blend, mainly because Syntec costs much more. Other than the difference in price, would there be any difference in using Syntec over Syntec Blend? My 2008 CR-V's maintenance minder called for the first oil change at 10,000 miles, but that was mostly highway. Now I'm doing mostly city.

if my Honda had a minder telling me 10k oci, then I would bite the bullet and use full synthetic.
5 qt jugs at Wally's is only $20, nothing wrong with the blend, just my opinion.

Today's SM rated dino's are just fine in a vrhicle such as yours. The synthetic blends provide little, if any, improvement in performance relative to the dino's. If it makes you feel better going to a full syn, go to something other that Syntec. Go to M1 or Penz Plat. The Syntech is considered bottom rung in the world of syns.

Make your own blend. 50% syn. and 50% dino in the same weight and brand. That way you can make your syn. that you bought at a good price stretch till the next BOGOF.
