My wife has a 2003 Honda Accord with 75K miles on it and have run amsoil ATF since about 30 K with an auto rx treatment and subsequent flush at 60 K. I will most likely wait for Specialty Formulations to reopen to buy their Z-1 fluid, but wondered what other synthetic options are out there? Redline ATF D-4 looks similar to the previous amsoil ATF specifications. Are their other possibilities as well? The amsoil is doing an excellent job, but I like to keep possibilities open...in the world of oil and transmission fluids.

For the very short time I used it, Mobil1 ATF along with the appropriate amount of LG black seemed to work well. I'm not sure if it is in the same ballpark as Amsoil. However, in the price range of Amsoil and SF, I'd imagine there is nothing else.

I just ordered 4 quarts of Amsoil ATF to try out, and may continue using their ATF unless SF opens back up for business

Last time I checked with Redline, they said to not use their fluid in a Honda auto.

Neo will tell you that you can use their ATF in a Honda auto. There aren't any UOAs on this site, that I'm aware of, with this combination though.

Some folks have used other ATFs with additives to 'convert' it to Z1 fluid.

Amsoil works for Honda, it is a synthetic ATF. Why does one want to take additional risk to do what Amsoil already doing?
M1 or Redline never claim either will work in Honda transmission. What advantage can one gain by doping Redline and M1 with LG black?

Don't use Redline or M-1 in a Honda trans. If you want a syn then Amsoil is probably the only one I know of where many many people report success over long miles. I would only use Honda z-1 or amsoil.

I plan on it after i drain 3 qts at the post-rebuild 5k and 10k marks and top off with Z1 (since i can't find anything cheaper to run for 5k miles)....then 3 qts Amsoil.
