Unless the base he starts with is "drian oil" LOL

How about slightly used oil? Oil in use for 5000 miles or less.

Revised viscosity from Me and Polaris
TBN agress in that I use 2896 and they use 4739 which reads lower

Bruce I just got off the phone with Polaris data analysis about the 40C, 100C and fuel. According to data analysis the fuel is inaccurate since they should not have been testing for it on a New lube reference. The machine can miss read the oil molecules as fuel. Some how the oils weight and the corresponding length of the molecular chain can effect the results, when tested a new lube can be miss read as containing fuel.

Hopefully you or Molakule understand and can explain it properly.

I noticed while on the phone with Polaris that the updated results had a lower fuel% of .1 down from .3 which is how we got on the fuel issue.

Synlube probably used some cheap recycled 10W30 oil with some kind of cheap moly additive thrown in. What a scam.

Revised with Polaris vis @ 40
I am leaving the fuel until Bruce or Mola can better explain how testing a New lube effects the fuel percentage reading.

Question: When oil is rerefined, as the Synlube supposedly is (Safety Kleen sells rerefined motor oil), are the wear metals removed (besides the ones in the insolubles)?

Since a refining tower works by separating product out by boiling point (lighter, lower boiling point products such as gasoline drawn off at the top, heavier, higher boiling point products at the bottom), I'm assuming that any metals like iron would stay in the bottom of the tower and come out with the rest of the heavy asphalt type stuff.

Synlube is totally busted on the synlube MSDS thread. After selling products out of the trunk of their car in a parking lot, they resisted every attempt by members to visit them. The multiple addresses do not show any kind of facility or office. Finally they said it was located in Mercury Nevada and no one could visit there. Now there is apparent proof that it is not. The list of scams and fabrications grows. No point in even testing this swill any more IMO. Trying to look at this scam objectively and scientifically is a waste of time IMO. Time to call a spade a spade or in this case a scam a scam.

Yes, Synlube has been exposed. We really do not need a VOA or a UOA. Who would want to buy their oil after all of this stuff that has been brought up here? Synlube-RIP.

NASA has not gotten back to me in regards to the validity of Synlube's claim of usage by them. I may mail them again. They probably think I'm some nutter! LOL!
