Has anyone here made the switch from light truck to passenger tires on thier SUV or truck??..I'm due for a new set and my current tires are BFG AT 31x10.50/15 (OEM size) on my 91 Pathfinder..My commute are 100% highway with no towing and no heavy loads. Would I notice anything from the switch? I want a longer treadlife and more highway friendly tires and also if It'll help the gas mileage thats a plus too..my only concerns are winter traction with the a/s tires versus my current all terrain...any feed back is appreciated

A Pathfinder comes with LT rated tires OEM?

Usually one doesn't see LT tires until you get up to a 3/4 ton pickup (8600# GVWR).

I just looked at the specs for the '08 Pathfinders, and as OEM, all of the tires are P rated. LT tires are overkill.

P245/75R16 Tires
P265/65R17 BFGoodrich® Long Trail® OWL tires
P265/75R16 BFGoodrich® Rugged Trail® OWL tires
P265/60R18 BFGoodrich® tires

I agree. It looks like he will need to ditch the 15 inch wheels to get any reasonable sized P rated tires though. You would have to go back to the old and rare N78-15 ambulance tires to come close to a a 31 10.5-15

Best I remember (been a long fime since I first looked) a P265/75R15 as came on '93ish Ford F150 is within hair splitting of being a 31-10.50R15. We often interchange them when LT load range isn't needed. Quite a bit cheaper, and available in most tire lines.

That's a good memory for an old guy.

A P265/75R15 converts to a 30.6=10.43R15 in metric speak.

Looks like the P265/75R15 is going to be a good option.

Looks like there's also a good selection of tire options in that size.
