Switch from 5w20 to 0w20

Just like the Gents said above--->Yes you can!!

You might even extend your OCI a bit longer as well-->Maybe!
Since the cost will be a bit more-->justify the extra cost.

OW-20 oils definitely use lighter base stocks than 5W-20 oils hence their higher viscosity indexes.
 
I would stay with 5w-20 and,maybe,a syn blend. I would be a little concerned with oil leaks.

0-20 wt oils don't cause leaks any more than 10-30 will. Both of my engines are bone dry with 0-20.
 
I read on one forum that some techs have noticed more consumption with 0w20 than 5w20 on the newer Toyota models. Can't vouch for that myself, personally, but I do lose between 1/2-2/3 qt at 10k service intervals on my DD Prius.

When I first bought my Duratechs I used 5-30EP. After discussing oil with Johnny and Fsskier I switched to 0-20AFE. No consumption increase at all in 10K.
