Guy at work will give a prize to the first person that knows what SWAG is in Nuclear Navy Military talk. Google turned up the wrong answer so I'm hoping someone here will know.

FUBAR is what SNAFU becomes without competent leadership.

Well I was beat to the punch, still don't know what answer the person was looking for. The answer from RooflessVW - Surface Warfare Aerographer's mate made a lot of sense and what I replied with. I was thinking it wouldn't be as obvious as scientific wild or silly wild or anything like that, but hopefully will find out.

The other posts were funny as well.

Depends on which one:

***** SWAG Scientific Wild-Ass Guess. A Close Approximation. Air Force Physics
*** SWAG Special Warfare Action Group Military
** SWAG Special Warfare Group
* SWAG Shock Wave Generator
* SWAG Simulated Waste Access to Ground Water

Company emblazoned hats, scarves and the like are called SWAG, for Stuff We All Get.
Such a jacket distributed at an office picnic would be SWAG.
The mid grade wristwatch with the company's logo given during the holidays to everyone would not.

Hint: The context given was "Nuclear Navy Military."

I did 12 patrols on two different SSBNs and that is what SWAG is for some things we get (battle coins, hats, belt buckles) or and I have heard this before while underway on Nuclear power and my time around the Navy...Scientific Wild Ass Guess. As in "I am not sure but I can provide you a SWAG." or "Or I will take a SWAG at it"
