The $1 difference in price between Super Tech and Motorcraft is so small that I do not understand why anyone would use the obviously lower quality product for such a trivial savings.

Oh well, it's your money!

Below is the topic posters reason for using these Super Tech filters and for these low miles no filter will get the job done any better at any price . If a person has multiple vehicles it adds up over 25 years .You might note some here take advantage of oil rebate coupons for that very reason .Are they irational for doing so
I'm not cheap . In fact I use some of the finest synlubes and filters in the world but there is a product and price range for everyone and for most a Super Tech filter , low cost dino and oil changes of 3k and less work out just fine .

I personally will keep using Super Tech oil filters because I think they are good enough for my 2500-3000 mile oil changes.

Horner , incase you forget it's still all about price vs performance over the lifetime of ownership for most unless it's a race motor , then going fast just plain costs

I've found that the design of the Super Tech filter, including the ADBV is one of the best on the market. Craftsmenship is a little below others, but for the price can't be beat. For Ford applications, there is another good, cheap alternative, the Motorcraft. In this application I would choose the Motorcraft because of it's better bypass placement and silicone ADBV. Other that these two factors it would be a close tie. On my cars I use Supertech and Purolator.
