Hi, does anyone know what the part number is for a SuperTech filter for this engine, or if they even make one for it yet?! It's been a while since I've been here so I'm assuming the ST's are still the best bang for the buck? The only others I've seen available for this engine is the regular Purolator and the Pure One, and of course the Motorcraft. $5/$3/? respectively. And $1.97 for the ST if they make one! Supertech P/N for 2004 Focus 2.3L PZEV?

Alright, guess I'll answer my own post. Well I called up Walmart today and asked to speak to Automotive and asked the guy if he could look up if there's a SuperTech filter for a 2004 Focus with the 2.3L engine. So after about 5 minutes of arguing with the guy on the fact that Walmart sells SuperTech and NOT "only Fram filters", as he suggested, he apparently went to go check. My question of "Are you looking on the electronic touchpad display by the filters or the book because that's only a Fram book" fell on deaf ears as he was apparently looking for it and finally he says it's the 2.0L. Me: "No I have a 2.3". No it's a 2.0. After convincing him again that I have a 2.3L engine he said no they don't have that filter so finally I said thanks and hung up. What the **** kind of people are working in their automotive dept who don't even know their own companies line of automotive products?!?!?!?!? I'm still not convinced a Super Tech filter doesn't exist for engine based on the above but I guess if nobody knows a P/N and replies by tomorrow I'll just get the Pure One. Thanks,

Do you know what the ford part number is?
If its FL-400 then the direct replacement is the ST3600
If is is the FL-2005 then it is the ST8316
If its FL-400 then the direct replacement is the ST3600

Hey Tom, thanks for the reply. No I'm not sure the Ford p/n but I already bought a Pure One. I went to a different Walmart and this one had the Super Tech filters in the book and it didn't show one for my engine. Thanks again,

After I replied I decided to look up a bunch of different filter manufactuers to see if they had it. Fram doesn't have one listed, wix does, motorcraft doesn't (gasp?) and I don't remember any of the others.
Hey thanks for the help guys. On motorcrafts website I entered in the part number FL-2005 and it shows the vehicles it works on and it's only listing the zetec. For the FL-400S it also shows the Zetec but different years. It probably is the 2005. Yeah because if I search for my specific engine it shows nothing. AZ and Pep are the last places I haven't gone to yet, I'm guessing the dealer won't give out the part number for the filter so you can cross-reference and get a better part huh? Thanks again,

Hey guys I found out the motorcraft P/N. The guys at focaljet knew it. It's FL-910. It'll list the right engine if you put it on moto's site but not the right car. Is there an ST equivalent for this motorcraft number? The Ford number is apparently 1S7Z-6731-DA. Appreciate the help!
At the Wix site, it lists a 51215.
It's a "black" filter instead of their typical "white" ones.
Aren't those considered motorcycle filters??
The site lists the applications as only being your car and the Mazda 3 w/ 2.0 engine.

Narrowing down the search. Baldwin Filters lists it as BT8409, Wix 57181. I have to run for a while. Hopefully someone can find out other companies filters or cross reference these. z
Well your first mistake is it's a Focus
BUT seriously we get these cars once in a blue moon at my shop...you know what we have to do?.... we picked up about 3 filters from the Ford dealer as they are the only place in the area that has them(listed and in person). So I would go with the Ford ones.

The 2.3 is a "green" engine that became standard in late 2003 in "green" states..and was an option later on. It is a great engine! Quiet, good power, quiet etc.! With rebates 2.3 PZEV is bargain pocket rocket for 2004.
BTW Car and Driver lists Focus Top in Class (4 or 5 years in a row) also Consumer Reports rates it tops also (always rated the highest in tests except in reliabilty). Now they can recommend it as reliablity is up to snuff!!!!!!!
