Is there anyplace that lists the micron rating for Super Tech filters???

I am looking at the differance between WIX 57620 and SuperTech 3976A (Since I got 12 @ $1.50.two stores in NC with clearance due to package change)

According to Champion, Supertech's manufacturer, the Supertech micron rating is proprietary information through Wal-Mart but, these filters are made to replace oem style, and are comparable to most aftermarket replacements.

I'd guesstimate that they're in the 30um-35um range on the nominal rating. Just about right for the short use user.

I'd go lower than that honestly. If a Wix can do 19 with a paper filter element then the ST/STP should be pretty close.

Yes, but it depends on your length of service. If you're dumping the oil every so many miles, you don't have as much particle production. The same level/number of larger particles can be present in a finer filtered engine with oil that is in service longer.

..and you don't need to pay twice to 3X the amount to do it. There's little sense to using a top tier filter in a short use application.

The actual rating of an ST would probably be better than 35um nominal. I should not have used that word as it implies the 50% level on a single pass test. They're well suited for 3-5000 miles OCIs.
