Planning on changing the differential oil, so while at Wal-mart I came across this SuperTech Gear Oil SAE 80W-90 GL-5.

My manual says to use a Hypoid Gear Lubricant (SAE 80W-90). Do not use synthetic gear lubricants.

Would this qualify as a Hypoid Gear oil, that is not synthetic?
Is this is a good oil?

Yes, it's a hypoid gear oil.
Since you don't change your rear end oil too often, consider other options. A few bucks more right now is insignificant for the projected use/life.
A Full Synthetic is generally better, but some mfrs. do warn against it.
I think it is nonsense, and many others also don't know why their reasoning comes to this conclusion.
