Supertech Filters & Oil

I know Walmart has stopped putting these on the shelf. Are they totally discontinued with no one else selling them?

How about Supertech oil? Will it meet the same fate?

Supertech is a Walmart brand, built to their specs. The filters were just relabeled Champ Labs filters. For some reason, probably price and the fact that Champ and Fram are now one company, they switched to Purolator, getting a national brand at what is probably a very good price.

The oil is packaged by different suppliers in different regions, but I see no reason for Supertech oil to go away. The way Walmart structures their deals and buys in such huge quantities, they will always get their own branded product cheaper than a major brand motor oil.

I've used them off and on, and unlike a few other posters here, I've had no problems with the Supertech oil filters. There are a few applications that I have avoided using the Supertech oil filter, but for an everyday driver, they haven't let me down.
If you still have to have the E-core filter, Autozone sells the STP oil filter which is almost identical. I think the new Purolators at Walmart are a better bargain, however.

IIRC, the VatoZone house brand...ValuCraft (sp?)...is e-Core as are the ACD filters sold at Wally's...look for the letter "E" after the part number i.e. PF47E

STP and Valucraft at AZ are the same filters as the old ST ones, just painted different colors. I actually have a VC that I picked up for free after coupon from AZ on the old Suburban-will be dissection time in about 1700 more miles!

Valucraft was discontinued at AZ back at the end of 2010. If there are any left...it's likely old stock. The line was replaced by the Autolite filter by Fram. Ironically, Champ got this business back by default when Fram was acquired by the Rank Group. VC is still gone though.

IIRC, the Valucraft brand oil filters was their Jobber line and not really intended for in front of the counter sales but some stores did anyways.
