FramWhat is the cheapest filter your Walmart has in stock?![]()
I read about how much people liked these, so I bought a few from Rockauto in 7317-equivalent sizes and they're made in China. Now I know that doesn't mean they're poor quality but given the choice between US-made (or Mexican as well as a few other countries), I'd prefer those over Chinese parts.Move on to some variant of Premium Guard.
I agree completely and bought WIX North Carolina made filters exclusively for decades. Unfortunately the USA made ones no longer seem to meet any minimum standards of quality control, yet the Chinese and Vietnamese made ones are impeccable.I read about how much people liked these, so I bought a few from Rockauto in 7317-equivalent sizes and they're made in China. The OEM filters are the best buys now. Walmart carries the most popular Motorcraft, GM and MOPAR filters now.Pretty much I think. The MP's went away a year ago - equivalent to the Champ XL. A couple showed up here with manufacturing defects anyway so no loss really - I did use them back in the day. I have one left I will likely toss.
Move on to some variant of Premium Guard. All things First Brand (Fram, Champ, etc) and M&H (Wix, Purolator) seem to have hit a new low in QC unfortunately.
Auto OEM's don't make filters. The OEM filters are the best buys now. Walmart carries the most popular Motorcraft, GM and MOPAR filters now.
Toyota, Honda and Subaru, too. I love me my Indonesian made Subaru filters. Now if they would only sell the crush washers…The OEM filters are the best buys now. Walmart carries the most popular Motorcraft, GM and MOPAR filters now.
Walmart oil filters seem to be strangely stocked by region. Was there yesterday. Fully stocked.

Here the MP went away a year ago. Last I looked which admittedly was a month ago they had a handful of the ST's left, which is basically a $1 luber finer walmart sells for $4.
I have yet to see the new Purolator here either - still have the Fram Endurance.
Champ makes AC Delco still, my PF47E is still a Champ E-Core design however they did recently change the base plate design but everything else seems to be the same.Auto OEM's don't make filters.
Motocraft are M&H or were.
Champion used to make the AC Delco. Maybe someone here knows if still?
Mopar is also M&H - or used to be.
If you believe somehow they pay closer attention to the OEM ones I suppose. Up to you. I'll pass.
just checked, they are available at my Walmart and all the surrounding Walmarts near me.
Was there yesterday. Fully stocked.
Sounds like yet another thread where (1) single Walmart store out of the almost 5000 in the US is made to be indicative of Walmarts nationwide. It's like BITOG needs a 'flag' that alerts the moderators here to require the address, city and state of the WM in question to be part of the thread title.Attendance is still good locally.![]()
Same situation with the Walmart near me that I looked at a week ago.I have yet to see the new Purolator here either - still have the Fram Endurance.
I started thread and realize a store may not stock particular brand that others do. Prior to posting I also checked online and shows out of stock.Sounds like yet another thread where (1) single Walmart store out of the almost 5000 in the US is made to be indicative of Walmarts nationwide.
