I just wrote this to Champion Labs. Still waiting for a reply. Any insights as to the recent changes in Super Tech oil filters?

______________

I note that you've consolidated and changed some of your SuperTech line. The book at Wal-Mart calls for a 6607 for an '01 Elantra and a 7317 for an '02 Elantra. This doesn't make sense since the cars were identical. If there was a clearance problem on older Elantras it must have gone away when the totally redesigned '01 appeared. I've always used larger SuperTech filters before and don't feel comfortable with the tiny 6607 unless there is a valid reason.

I also have an earlier e-mail from you stating that the Super Tech3593A is the correct replacement for the earlier discontinued 2808. Now I'm really confused.

Thank you for answering this promptly. My car is scheduled for service in the next day or two.

I wonder if Champion Labs will ever sell the Supertech oil filters in the Canadian walmarts

All three will work. In addition I believe 3950 will also work. Its probably not their fault. Auto companies are specifying the smaller filters to insure "one size fits all"

I highly doubt it, they all have huge supplies of AC Delco and Fram already up here.
