Supertech 5w40 thoughts?

My Dad just purchased a 2012 Passat 2.5 recently and it's going to need an oil change soon... All the receipts with the car shows they always ran a 5w40 in the car. Now I see Walmart here locally has a Euro 5w40... Was wondering if it's any good. Plan on doing 8000kms oil changes and using a Mann or hengst filter in it... Or maybe even a carquest premium.
I know people have said here before the supertech has some good oils but never seen much about the Euro 5w40... Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated!

I also would use the Euro version. As some people above already mentioned.

I believe the Triax blender is Omni Specialty Packaging. They are also involved with the 303 fluid you posted.

It's an interesting case for sure. Without going through the voluminous amount of the case, what's interesting is the main part of the lawsuit appears to be against the blender (Omni) and O'Reilly. I get it, the label is misleading, however, the blender who is licensed (according to their site) certainly knew better and that's why it appears they were the main defendant.

It’s safe to say stay away from any oil by that blender(Omni). Triax is just a marketing guy using said blender, who is willing to put any label on the bottle. Who knows what’s actually in the bottle…..
