Supertech 0w-40 5qt exists? But isn't for sale or at least yet?

At first I thought this was a listing mixup with the canadian one but the canadian one is a 5 liter jug of 5w-40 with some French but this is a 5 quart jug of 0w-40. The price is terrible at $27 so I'd never buy it over QS 5w-40 but it doesn't say discontinued only out of stock but no reviews either. I tried to look for a date and it surprisingly says 2024 on the back of the jug but it's odd that it's the old SN formulation but dated 2024. I tried to look up supertech 0w-40 on here and found nothing.

interesting that it’s SN. would love to see a VOA of this stuff

I think I found the pds. Warren highline makes supertech and it also states API SN as the newest api rating along with all the oem's except the opel one which I'd argue is because they see that as irrelevant to state in the US market but the same could be said about the Renault spec yet they included that. The webpage for this also says "Information accurate as of March 3, 2025" so it must've been checked over recently.

What surprises me is that it claims 3.7 hths but with a KV100 of only 12.8. Calcium is 2600, Zinc 1020, Phos 920, Boron 70, and 9% noack. The current M1 0w-40 is 3.6 hths I think but at 13.8 kv100. This reminds me of the old SN M1 0w-40.

I hope mag1 sells a big 10 quart jug of this 0w-40 on Lowes for cheap like how they do with their ATF, 15w-40, and 10w-30 HDEO which I'm a fan of.

Actually I take it back, this might not be an overpriced oil at $27 a jug after all. I think I'd prefer this over M1 0w-40 if I had to choose between the two to use in my trucks. But QS 5w-40 is still a great buy.

Interesting; haven’t seen it yet at a WM up here.
That's what I wonder. I don't think it's for sale yet as out of stock can be displayed if a single one hasn't been sold yet as inventory marked zero on the system is what will make it show that.

Mine says available for delivery for tomorrow. Yet I have not seen it in stores around here though

Mine too now says delivery is available but not in store or pickup. Apparently 0w-16 is also back.

So the only actual approval it has is API SN?

It along with the purolator filters made for walmart should be on the shelf in the next 2 weeks. All stores oil and filter section is undergoing a "modular" change. If it's not then that stores late to getting it set. Supertech 0w16 is another new one here. From a reliable source.

As much as I like M1, I'll say forget the brand names if they all meet the same approvals and you may learn something different.

Couple times I bought Castrol Euro 0W-40 over M1 FS 0W-40 because it was on sale for $4 or $5 (for 5 qt jug) cheaper and both had exact same approvals.
However, Castrol ended up burning none in the same engine whereas M1 0W-40 burned some so I was impressed and shocked at the same time since both oils had exact same grade & approvals ...

Been waiting to repeat my test (under the same conditions) but bought some M1 FS Euro 5W-40 to try next and see what it does. iirc, it also has the same approvals. 0W-40 is supposed to be a "better" oil but not if it burns in my car!
