I stuck some $34 Lionhart tires on my prius right before I sold it. They had good traction, held air, and rode great! If we don't try something new once in a while, "Big Tire" is going to keep making mediocre, overpriced product.

For $38 bucks I'd say you did just fine. I just bought a Linglong mud tire for a spare for my samurai.. There are a lot of no name tires out there these days. I've been noticing lots of them are also coming out of Vietnam and Thailand since we put tariffs on tires from China.

I got my Thailand deluxes mounted/balanced today. $169.60 for the tires, $80 for M/B. $249.60 all in. Gotta love small cars.

The biggest balance weight I see is a one ounce clip on.

edyvw, where are you buddy? I might have enough left over to treat you to a coffee.

Some tire shops in my area won't even tough a carry-in. They'll only deal with what they sell.

Other repair type shops that sell or deal with tires may quote you something crazy like $50/tire to mount and balance a carry in. I know it's a bit of work and I get where they're going with that, but geez.

Luckily the shop by me will mount and balance carry-ins for $20 a pop as long as they're safe to do so. They do a good job. They're not the cheapest shop. They will still plug tires and charge you $15 to do so. If the tire needs to be broken down and inside-patched, that's $30.

FWIW, this is the same shop I paid ~$600 to replace the cat-back exhaust system on my 2015 Nissan Versa sedan a few weeks back.

It's either $80-90/hr they charge for labor.
 
I purchased a set of these from Walmart online. All 4 of them were defective. The bead would break loose from the wheel on curves and the tire would quickly deflate. I ended up doing a 360 in the middle of I-70 in Colorado and ended up in a ditch doing $7,000 damage to my car.

I bought 4 of with for brand new rims. A month later the sidewall split open. I bought one more thinking I hit something maybe. Again a month later another split and two spots this time!! And I will pass the word around!! I'll never buy or let anyone I know get the brand of tire.

wouldn't buy these thinking they are going to help in wet or winter seasons.. they barely get any traction during the winter and even slides around a lot in rain. Definitely wasn't worth buying these tires

I am not very happy with these tires, one of the tires could not be balanced and was replaced, and even with re-balancing there is still a terrible vibration that for some reason, cannot be eliminated.

these tires suck came apart metal broke on 3 tires separated tread cost slot to repair my car these are by far worst tires ever purchased

I think I'll take some M tires please.
Or at least a decent brand.

fwiw I paid $95x4 -70(mir) -20(mir) -50(instant savings) for some 205/55r16 general AS-05 last week.
mount and balance + tax was around 100. no tire disposal fee because I am selling the OEM tires.

already got the 2 rebates too.

fwiw I'd buy a brand name chinese tire over these no-name tires.
milestar, doral, federal, can be argued to be bottom shelf but lightyears ahead of these.

I gotta call BS on that one! Break loose from the wheel?? Do you really believe that on a properly mounted tire?

Could happen with 16 inch tires mounted on 15 inch rims.
Back in the day warnings were moulded right into the tires about 16.5 inch tires on 16 inch rims and visa versa.

Impressive looking tire tread . They get good reviews in many sizes at WALMART . Most are T-rated . One was V in a 17" (?) .
 
When we bought '17 MDX from an independent used car dealer, they slapped on Ironman iMove Gen 2 SUV tires on it before the sale. Never heard of Ironman or any one of their line of tires. Since they were brand new, I thought I'd give it a try for the summer and replace them if I didn't like them. Took a 2000 km summer road trip in MDX and they held up fine. No tire leak, balance issue, or grip loss around the mountains. I don't use them in winter due to various reviewers posting how bad they were in snow/ice.
I won't buy them out of pocket in future, but after one season of use, this less known brand isn't too bad as I thought. SuperMax tires could be in same situation. I remember how people ripped Hankook tires when they first entered the market.
