Was at Walmart earlier and they have Super Tech 10W40 and I think,10W30 in the new SN rating. This oil is from WNE which is part of Warren Performance Products.

The price difference is much greater than $1.50, at least at my local stores. A 5 qt jug of ST is $10. The next cheapest oil is Pennzoil conventional, which is $14.50. That's enough of a difference to seriously consider ST.

Lets turn that around and ask.
Why pay a $1-1.50 more when you can get an oil that is probably as good as Penz,Val and Mobil? Especially if you do 3K OCI's.

Its obviously not as good as your PP's and M1's but for the price you pay its definately not a bad oil, I think we can all agree with that. We have seen a lot of good used oil analysis from this product. I remember looking at one with 9k with excellent results. SuperTech isnt anything that will break new ground in oil but it gets the job done and well.
Ran nothing but SuperTech conventional and Super Tech filters for the first 40k miles on my vehicle. Even took SuperTech conventional to a little over 10,000 mi on one oci. I change oil for my mom, uncle, and friend, and for thelasttwo years have used nothing but Super Tech oil and Super Tech filters for them. No problems.

Thats what I like to hear. ST is a good product. Its not cheap its just good value.
I have used ST many times and quite a few miles and I havent had any problems.
I said that it is probably as good as Penz. and others. It may be as good but I havent done a used oil analysis etc. to prove it.
I am not being smart or anything but if those that try and say it is a bad oil and such and are determined to try and make it be bad, give us proof of it.
Pricing at Walmart here is $10 ST, $14.50 Pennzoil Conventional, $13.50 GTX for 5qt jugs. I can't imagine any non psychologicall difference between oils for my 5k OCI intervals except price.
I think Mobil Super 5000 for $11.50 and Quaker State Ultimate Durability synthetic for $19.00 are the best day in and day out oil deals at Walmart . Better add packs and when averaged over the life of an OCI we're talking pennies difference .

How do you know you have "No problems."?
What does that mean?
Did you do pre/post internal evaluations?
Should he really have to? This oil is SN rated! If you use an oil that meets API standards your good. SuperTech is just fine for anyone. It even met Corvette spec! Im pretty sure his car is fine. The 1Super Tech 40k of my yaris has seen mostly ST and I look its looking clean and running great.

No he should not. Some people just have to keep picking a scab that needs no picking.
Super Tech is a decent oil that meets spec, period! I have yet to see anybody show a case where Super Tech oil under normal OCI, cause a engine to fail or have any measurable shortened service life.
Some people just gotta hate because Wal-Mart sells it and everybody knows Wal-Mart is the devil, so "Super Tech = Devil".
You can always make a case that for a few dollars or cents more, you can get into "XYZ" brand. Does not mean that XYZ brand is giving you any measurable value other than marketing brain washing giving you a warm fuzzy at night.
