I was browsing online for oil deals and thought I would check out WalMart. I saw this:

How long has WalMart been advertising SuperTech as Pennzoil?

Wow!

Grab a bottle and look for the date code and see if it's the same format as PZ or other SOPUS stuff.

In the late 90s QS supplied some of what was then called Tech2000 but got out of it. They accidentally shelf-labelled it at one store and I saw it being unloaded off QS pallets another time.

That might be just the stuff for your VW Bugatti or Ford Jaguar.

Yes, Chrome running on Arch Linux. The desktop is KDE 4.6.2. I normally use Firefox but I have Flash Block and No Script in Firefox so some sites just won't work.

guess SuperTech is to Pennzoil as Napa is to Valvoline now. Interesting.
Seems many oil companies now have a "dumbed down" version of their oil, ie..Napa, Supertech now, Mobil Super..not Super 5000. If you check the UOA's, they are great oils, but not quite as much of an add pack as the name branded one.

I don't think it is a mistake on the website. All the SuperTech oil is labeled Pennzoil. Also the product description for high mileage oil is:

"Pennzoil SuperTech High-Mileage 10W30 Motor Oils are specially formulated for engines with 75,000 miles and more. They help provide extra protection to extend the life of the engine. The SAE 10W30 grade engine oils meet and exceed all automobile and light duty truck requirements for gasoline engines where API SN service performance is recommended.
Pennzoil SuperTech High-Mileage 10W30 Motor Oil, 5-Quart:

Help reduce oil consumption
Provide protection for worn engine parts
Contains a seal conditioner to help reduce leaks"

Someone at Walmart might have printed that but I highly doubt the actual label on that bottle says anything about Pennzoil on it. SOPUS does not make Super Tech oils.

I sent WalMart an email asking for clarification. Will let y'all know how they respond.

I cannot believe that Walmart would make a mistake.. They are as sharp as any football.
