Took this filter off the Camry in my sig. It had 7988 miles, and two oil changes. On went another Fram PH4967, and some Castrol 40 grade combo (20w50 conventional & 5w20 Edge). I didn’t cut the filter element off, because I just wanted to see the pleats and the overall condition of the filter at 8K miles. Date code means it was made on October 10, 2022.

Doesn’t look bad for 8000 miles, although honestly I didn’t expect to see the pleat spacing visible in that first pic, and a couple of others as well. I am planning on taking these filters 8-10K miles, and now I’m wondering if I should...

Yes, the one you posted is the older version. @Fair enough cut one in December 24' & even though the leaf spring was ruffle free it still let plenty of light through unfortunately.

-bypass spring, no wavy metal on this one. Very minor ruffles.
-Smaller left to right Boss 4967, Fram 4967, Toyota N1, and Pentius 4967.
-cut filter, gap is bypass spring pop up
-general construction PH 4967
-side view with bright light from below
- opposite side bright light
Spring pressed hard into end cap. The protrusions prevent the spring from fully seating, two black spots on each side are the protrusion contacts. There would be a better seal if protrusions allowed full contact.
Element too small for my liking on this filter, big gap in can, but maybe not that important.

Walmart puts 75% made in USA, Fram doesn’t. I guess no one will ever know what is going on there.

Nice looking build but lousy efficiency at 20 microns.

Whats the efficiency at 20? Says its 99% at 30 so maybe 90 at 20?

I have nothing against Super Tech filters, actually used them a bunch, but I HATE tiny filters. Every time I can get a massive filter, that has the right specs, I AM IN!

I'm a happy fan of giant filters......

Well it's a basic jobber filter so those numbers are appropriate but at least it is still better filtration than Mann, Mahle and Hengst.

Not a big fan of ST dropping larger filter sizes for smaller ones. 3600 for 3614, 8 for 16, 10575 for 10060/12060 and that whole filter number mess with differing bypass pressures

Some St cans are metal capped but many are fiber but as long as they're bonded to the media well it's not an issue.

Smaller filters still bug me, but if an engine isn’t a carbon monster and it’s on a 5k interval it’s probably fine
