I picked up some Walmart SuperTech Mercon V ATF. I assume it's made by Warren as it has the WPP molded into the bottle bottom.
The label states "Ford Approved", but unlike the SuperTech DEX VI, there is no license # ink jetted on the bottle, nor any mention of it on the label.
It states that it "meets" the Ford Mercon V spec, but also lists
"suitable for use" on Chrysler 3&4, Dexron III&IV, Mercon LV&SP, Nissan J, Toyota T-IV&WS.
Is this a truly Ford licensed/approved Mercon V, or just some "multi-vehicle" formula? Think the Castrol Mercon V or other brands are better in the same price range?
(I'm not interested in paying $8+ a quart for full synthetic. I rather change a cheaper fluid more often)
Since I do a partial drain and fill every year, any problems with mixing the Mercon V with the existing Mercon in the trans?
