My 98 f150 has the 4.6 and I have been using the motorcraft filters but have used supertechs. Is there another part number for the st to get a larger filter? The one it calls for is about a 1/3 smaller than the motorcraft.

There is an oversized filter for the 4.6, but not in SuperTech part #

The size (length) difference is due to the construction that doesn't require the bulky hardware on the internals.
..but there are longer options ..but I sincerely doubt that there's an ST part # for it.

The Super Tech line of oil filter's is not very extensive, the applications covered are limited. You are futher restricted by the particular stores desire to find shelf space for them. Many stores don't stock the full line.
The Motorcraft line of oil filters are made by Purolator. Should you find a defective one you'll first have to go through Helm, Inc. Good luck trying to get any satisfaction out of either company.

If you have Oreillys stores there, check the size of the store brand Micro Guard filter.
