suitable Oil for my Supra - Engine Twin Turbo

Hi, im new to this Forum. Found as I was searching for advice on waht Oil i should use on my car. I used the search option and could not find anything specific, but if I made a mistake by posting this then I´m sorry

My Engine is a 2JZ-GTE with BPU. Should be around 400hp. The engine was fully rebuilt 20000 miles ago, and I think the former owner user 5w50. The country I´m living in is denmark - that means Temperatures go from 23 degrees in winter up to 90 in summer.

I read a lot of good things about german castrol 0w30 and also about mobil 1 oils.

MY driving style should be considered normal, the car is my daily driver. Sometimes I floor it of course and drive it in excess of 150mph.

any adive what to look for would be much appreciated.

oh yea: please no suggestions on US only oils since those aren´t avaible where I´m at

Mobil 1 0w40 is a full synthetic oil that is great for powerful turbocharged engines.

Do you really drive it at 242 KPH? Maybe you should be more concerned with what brakes you have on it.

As for oil, either the Mobil 1 or German Castrol that you mentioned will be a great fit for your car. Just follow Toyotas recommendations on viscosity and you will be fine with any quality synthetic.

I'll echo mechtech2 and ben99gt recommendations. I would stick with a 0w-40 or 5w-40 and stay with the same brand after you found it. You have 5w-40 Pentosin Pentosynth 502/505?

thanks for your suggestions so far. just looked for Pentosin oil and it seems available. So which one to choose mobil 1 or this Pentosin?

Yes I drive it even at 300kph when I have the chance on the german autobahn.

You dont know anything about my car, so why say something like that

I am concerned about the brakes, thats why I got very good ones on my car.

Hi, You might want to google on "John Rowland" - R&D director at Silkolene for some of his excellent articles on European oils. He is a big fan of shear stable synthetics and semi-synthetics. With the heat and shear in your turbos running on an unrestricted part of the autobahn I would consider an ester based oil like Motul 8100 or, if available, Redline in 5W40.

Wow, 300 KPH is insane speed. My 300 HP Mustang tops out at 241 KPH and I haven't ever had it anywhere near that speed. Sorry for my concern about your safety in the previous post.

How do you know it really does top out at 241 KPH unless you had it there???

Well Car and Driver or Motor Trend reviewed an 07 GT one time that topped out at 150. I'm sure mine could go just a little faster since I use synthetic oil. <--- just kidding

If it`s a TT,you must have one of the 93-97 Supras. I`d use RP 40 or 50 weight here in south Texas. But I see you`re in Denmark. What`s your climate like there?

Mobil 1 0w40 or the German Castrol oils are both great for your application.
