Suddenly losing air in ALL tires simultaneously?

This just started a few weeks ago and I wouldn't think much of it if it wasn't for the fact I'm losing air in EVERY tire simultaneously, and at a quick rate.

I usually keep my tires between 35-40 PSI but at least once a week recently, they all get down to 20-25psi or so and all at roughly the same time.

There's no nails or anything stuck in my tires, the valve stems seem to be fine, so what gives?

That's odd. You're not testing after some large temperature drop, right?

Sure it's not someone messing with you? Strange for all 4 to do the same thing (short of temperature swings).

Even if it was a temperature drop, surely that wouldn't be causing me to lose almost 20 psi?

I thought at first someone was messing with me, I've known people to hide balled up foil in valve stem caps, but there's no signs of tampering.

This confirmed by using more than one gauge when testing??

Good point. Some gauges are fit for the trash. Not everything lasts forever. Maybe it's a bad gauge and it is impacted by its temperature (or phase of the moon).

Sure. Depends on the swing, but sure.

I mean, the pressure does not continue to lessen after the initial 20 psi drop, so there is not a leak, let alone 4 at a time at the same rate.

So it is either:

you are pulling everyone's chain with bad info.......
have a bunch of gauges that are wrong,....equally
something ambient is effecting the pressure,

or

someone is removing a precise amount of air every night, just to mess with you.

Check where the tire meets the rim for leaks (spray soapy water on them). I have 3 of my tires leak all at the rims. Idk if they’re junk tires or what but they didn’t leak when first installed but some years later magically started leaking at the rims. Very annoying.

Yeah I've had snow tires develop rim leaks in the off season.

Back in the mid-'80s, we had a couple of Mazdas with alloy wheels. On my car, three of the tires would lose air regularly. It turned out that the wheels had some porosity. That's all I got ... <shrug>

Round BBs under the valve caps can do that. They fall out when you unscrew them, and may go unnoticed. Its an old prank.

If it's the nissan those seem to leak more from the metal tpms than other makes in my experience. Had to "recore"/replace the valve and seal on many.
