Subway calls ‘emergency’ meeting with franchisees as sales plummet

Trash vs. Jersey Mike's or Wawa.
lol that you would put Wawa in the same group as Jersey Mike’s. Wawa is more like subway. I won’t get those either.

You need to come to a place that has actually good hoagies. Jersey mikes wlll do in a pinch.

Agreed 🤝. I simply eat at Chipotle to avoid the bread 🥪 and it's rewards system is much easier to navigate
I refuse to eat at Chipotle due to their hateful disdain for Agriculture, which is like an airplane pilot hating the wings on an airplane.

Plus I know multiple people who have gotten sick eating at one, not the same one, more than once.

Subway is yummy but Jimmy John’s is better.

We just got a chick fil a, Main Street just outside the Fort Worth Stockyards...It's a bust! 8am Saturday morning, 4 car in the drive thru.
Not bad for a fast food chicken restaurant to have 4 cars in the drive thru at 8:00 AM on a Saturday. Go by at 12:00 noon or 6:00 PM and count the cars!

Even CFA is slipping a bit.

The parking traffic flow isn't as streemilened as it used to be. I used to be you could count on the lines and traffic to move like clock work but its not as guaranteed anymore.

Along with every one else they have a bunch of space dedicated to curbside pickup, but it seems to be vacant while folks who want to go inside are searching for parking.

Still its rare that i see one not packed anytime of day they are open.

If i'm eating fast food chicken out its Zaxbys or CFA if there is one, Raising Cane's if not.

We like Canes. Not many around, but for fast food there definitely tops. Only fast food I will get - unless you count Five guys as fast food. However you need a second mortgage to eat there anymore.

They opened a Zaxby's here a decade ago. We went a couple weeks later. Both kids got sick - chicken strips. Wife and I had something else - don't remember. Never been back :(

The one time my wife and I patronized a Subway restaurant, the young Latina serving us called me a "hungry handsome man." The fire in my wife's eyes nearly burned the place down and the poor lady got a very strong dose of laser eyes to kill. Never got a chance to eat one of their sandwiches, as I was marched out of there on the double before the ordering process even began.
That's not a problem I've ever had. 😂

I was the sort women classified as "friend material" or "having a nice personality".

They do own Subway(?)
Watched the vid. Franchisee ran out of money from the sounds of it - Captain enterprises and sub LLC or something like that . They stopped getting food orders a week or so before. Overleveraged - if a restaurant traffic drops even a few percentage points thats probably all their profit?

The news lady reached the franchisee owner, and she claimed someone hacked her bank account and she was unable to pay :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Ya, right.

Workers owed 2 weeks pay from the sounds of it. Sad. If the VC's that paid $9B for the franchise had one ounce of decency they would pay the 200 workers their last check. It would be rounding error to them.

Same before I was married.

Then like a month after marriage all kinds of women giving me the eyes and smiling.

Well still I made a good choice..........I mean I got darn lucky!
Yeah, after I got married, a woman at work congratulated me and said something like "You broke dozens of hearts here when you tied the knot!", and I thought, "Huh, I thought I was invisible ...".

I too chose well and was fortunate enough to marry a good person. 😀

Back in the day before any of us, working on a rest day would get you stoned. I've seen people cut their grass on a day of rest, it's been told to me that we cant/won't judge them as that's a job for someone much higher than me.
We are supposed to use judgement in our daily lives. It is needed to avoid sin. I think the main point in the Bible about judging others is to not practice hypocrisy and condemnation of others.

Its awful, last time I went to eat out at a Subways I usually get the Footlong Flatbread with steak and cheese. A few years ago before the pandemic prices were fine and wouldn't mind getting 2 orders with whatever promotion sales they got going. But now I can't see myself paying over 15 dollars for a single fully loaded foot long sandwich.

Its not just Subways where prices are gone out of wack. Even Jack in the box, their Jumbo Jack burger is no longer that 2 dollar and fifty cent value menu item anymore and cost almost 5 bucks for the sandwich alone without a combo and 10 dollars as a combo. At least their tex mex tacos are still decently priced but everything there, specially their burgers is tiny compared to what you get at Carls Jr.

To avoid the urge to eat out at work lunch ours, I just bring a Hungryman TV dinner and stash it in the office kitchen fridge or bring my own pre-cooked and prepped food from home.
In Phoenix a couple of months ago subway ran a footlong deal that my mom thought was a typo but was legit. $8 footlong 2 for $15 or three for $18.

They've had some huge price increases. I think that's the problem. I got a footlong sandwich as a meal with cookies and a drink a few months back and it was $17. That's not sustainable for a mediocre sandwich. I can eat Jersey Mike's or Jimmy John's for the same or less money and those are more premium sandwiches.

A few Subways that I've been in most recently don't seem to observe Subway's standards on how long food should sit out. I think this can be traced back to employees who just don't give a ****, which is also reflected in their general attitudes. I can do better at Jimmy John's, or even Blimpies.

I have to admit that I like their fresh cookies much more than their subs.

Long time ago when I worked at a supermarket I would stop off and get Subway sandwich at 11:30 PM after work. The food was better back then.
