Substitute Fram TG5 for TG30?

The short answer is yes. I don't see a problem with a TG5 on your Nova.

Back when I was in the fast cars( well Chevrolets anyway) the ph30 was the short car filter,the ph13 was the longer truck filter. Both were interchangeable. Now the ph5 replaced the ph13. There is also a huge ph373.

Good to know i will be using a XG5 on the next oil change nice to have a better filter and a little more oil capacity.
