Is there a synthetic oil that does well in a 99 Imprenza?

Yes. Whichever one you like! N/A Subaru's are easy on oil. I'm running Pennzoil High Mileage 5W-30 in my 2000 RS.

Follow what you owners manual says as far as oil weight goes. As for oil, I hear Shell Rotella is a popular oil for the WRX crowd.

I always ran Mobil M1 on my old 2001 Outback....it was a great oil.

Once I also tried QS green bottle, but it seemed to reek of 'oil odor' more so than the Mobil while the motor was running...and the gas milage wasn't as good. Switched back to M1, no problems.


Go figure.
