Is anyone running the Mobil1 M110A oil filter on a 2.5L Outback? Mobil calls out for M108A, but the M110A is taller. Just curious. Thanks

What problem are you trying to solve by going with the wrong sized filter? IF under warranty, I wouldn't, If not, knock yourself out, but you aren't gaining anything, even if there is more filtering material. Nothing measurable anyway. If you do, triple check bypass setting is correct.

From the online discussions I have seen, I think a lot of people go with the longer filter. No harm at all. Go for it if you want.

by-pass pressure relief would be a thing to compare to factory setting.

I don't know if it applies to the 2.5L outback, but I think Subaru switched to a shorter oil filter on a turbo model or two because the filter was very close to the exhaust and got heat soaked.

looking for a larger filter on my 2020 Outback, out of warranty, naturally aspirated. Bypass pressure lower than 23psi of oem filter.

Microgard Select 57055 is a taller filter with the correct Subaru bypass.

Purolator one pl-14615 is what I use in my Subaru, has also the correct bypass and great filtering abilitys,99% at 20-25 um.
