Hi guys,
My wife and I now have two subarus in the driveway. They both have the same 2.5 NA motor, one being an '08, and the other an '11.
We use the wagon on longer trips, which has 50k miles on it, and the impreza has roughly 70k.
Both get used primarily around town, BUT get the odd 100k highway run in the summer. Total miles are roughly only 6k each. (10,000 km)
Subaru calls for 7.5k or 7 month changes for regular service on conventional.
Would annual changes with a top their oil be safe? Both are very well maintained with regular PCV and filter changes.
Otherwise, I'll continue with 6 month - 5k changes on conventional or a blend. I can get kendall blend and a filter for $24. Just wondering if the 2.5i is a good candidate for this, or safer to error on the side of caution. I just hate the idea of changing oil at 3k miles.
Thoughts?
