I am very comfortable financially. I however choose to avoid these games as much as possible out of principle. I buy 2L drinks, and refill a large cup in my home, instead of paying $2.99 for a fountain drink at a convenience store. We gave up buying the occasional candy (wife loves chocolates like M&M's) at convenience stores or supermarkets, so she buys them at Dollar stores for a fraction of the price.

On a happier note, I can buy Top Tier gas for $2.50/gal., or even less. Thats a way bigger deal than the downsized products people occasionally buy.

Domino's is doing good these days.
14" pizza with many toppings included $9.95... they don't list a limit unless you get nuts...
I got 5 and of those two were marked as extra amounts all for $9.95
