I ran to work all winter for decades. I felt great, and when questioned by co-workers would say "I was probably happier to get to work than you were".

I never got cold running in the winter.

I usually cycled Spring-Summer-Fall, and for the last few years cycled to work in the winter too.

Running or cycling is vastly more enjoyable than driving in rush-hour traffic.

Back when I bicycled to work, I could sometimes beat the traffic. That was really fun. Took me about 55 minutes to ride the 22 miles. Today, I can barely get up out of a chair.... But I am going for a 20 mile ride this AM, even if it is slow and I can't walk afterwards...

Twenty-two miles in 55 minutes is awesome! I couldn't have done that at my physical peak, 40 years ago.

Around town I average c. 17 km/hr - that's perhaps 11 mph.
