Our gate was open until 1a this morning. At 4:33a the mutt starter barking then she stopped. Not uncommon for some kind of animal to set off the alarms and make her bark.

@7a I left for work and found a package at my gate. I have not checked the cameras but I'm going to assume it was the Amazon guy dropping the package off at my gate @4:33.

Seeme a little early to me but maybe he has a huge load in the truck.

There must be a ongoing competition between delivery companies. A few years ago my wife ordered 2 pairs of shoe laces online. They showed up on A Sunday morning , delivered by the US postal service.,,

I have the option of 4-8am delivery on my prime account for some items. The older boy needed some pencils for an exam the next day. Here's the delivery. To the OP, just have a look at the detailed delivery information for the item and you'll see what time it was dropped at the gate.

Keep in mind some stuff is delivered directly from Amazon in an Amazon branded van by an Amazon affiliate delivery company but there's also Amazon Flex... basically Uber but for Amazon packages. Individuals can accept blocks of stuff and those can be at some VERY random times.

I'd rather have a package there waiting for me when I wake up vs staring at a tracking number all day like a lost puppy. 4am delivery sounds great!

I've had them come to my house around 4am. They have also rung the doorbell at that time too, ya know, just to let us know we have a package on our porch.

I have ordered several items that qualified for free overnight delivery through Prime, and they actually were there before 5A.

They’ve been dropping our deliveries at the end of our driveway. A thief could literally open their car door and pick it up. They know that nobody is going to be fired this time of year and especially since they are threatening a strike….

I had one that I didn't know had early AM delivery. My ring camera went of and all I caught from video quick (work has bad coverage) was a grey Pilot backing out of my driveway. We have a grey Pilot. I called my wife and asked where she was going so early thinking maybe something happened. She was still sleeping.

I said well your Pilot is backing out of driveway. She checked and hers was still there. I'm in a small 5 house cul-de-sac, crappy apron and normally no deliveries or other come in my driveway.

When I saw the whole video, this guy pulled all the way up the driveway, dropped package and right back out. Wife was not happy getting woken up at least an 1.5 hours early, startled awake by phone ringing.

I havent had any early morning deliveries that I know of, but we've had a few nighttime deliveries, after 9:00 pm. Which is a bit unnerving, as we live 1200 ft off the road and its dark and quiet back here. When someone pulls in, the dog goes nuts and the motion lights on the barns and garage start lighting up. And a lot of times they are in unmarked vehicles, so I dont know exactly what or who I'm about to deal with. I told one of them to be careful, this is Deliverance southeast Indiana and having spent most of my homeownership in subdivisions closer to town, I'm a lot less gun-obsessed than some of the indigenous locals around here (and I'm being way, WAY too kind in saying that) who may not be as welcoming to a late evening delivery in an unmarked van. One of the people said "yea, I learned that very, very quickly around here".

The USPS has a contract with Amazon for Sunday deliveries. Idk why, probably so they don't have to pay OT? We're in a tiny town and know the post office people personally (parties and such), and the Sunday Amazon postal lady is our youngest child's gf's grandmother. Lol
